The Rules of Engagement:
As an ARRL Volunteer Counsel, I will make myself available for a free initial consultation, which may be fairly extensive and which may involve local counsel.
Engagement as counsel is by written fee agreement only.
Once engaged on an hourly or fixed-fee or other basis, there are no guarantees of outcome or cost, and no warrantees implied, and :
– all discussions of the matter will take place during business hours and in the law office, not at home off- hours, and not at the local hamclub meeting, and never on the air;
– we will respond to e-mails during business hours and any telephone calls not at the office will be billed at a one hour minimum;
– we will bill monthly for all of our time and we keep track of all of our time including “review,” “attention to” and “preparation”; not all time results in written work-product;
– we will prepare the same kind of notes, memos, letters (including e-mails), and briefs we do for any other client to prosecute and document the case;
– we will do a case plan and budget at the beginning of the case and update both as appropriate, and send copies to our client.
